Fatwa and Sustainable Development, Egypt's Dar al-Ifta completes preparations for its 7th Intl. conference

Under the auspices of H.E President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and with the participation of high-level delegations from UN and WHO along with Muftis, ministers, and scholars from over 90 countries, Egypt's Dar al-Ifta is to hold its 7th international conference on Fatwa and Sustainable Development Goals from 17-18 October, 2022.

Egypt's Grand Mufti and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Shawki Allam, announced that the significance of this year's conference stems from God's command to construct the earth and fulfill man's vicegency and deal with climate change issues facing the world from a religious perspective.

From his part, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, Senior Advisor to Egypt's Mufti and Secretary-General for the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, pointed out that the conference focuses on the relationship between fatwa and sustainable development and discusses providing religious leaders with means of contribution to climate protection.
Dr. Negm added that addressing "the role of fatwa in eradicating poverty and hunger and achieving the well-being of people" comes on top of the conference's agenda.
