Under the umbrella of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Egypt's Dar al-Ifta announced in a news statement on Wednesday that it will hold its 6th international conference from 2-3 August, 2021.
The conference titled “Fatwa Authorities in the Digital Age” comes under the auspices of the Egyptian President, His Excellency Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and with the participation of delegates from 85 countries worldwide, scholars, Muftis, religious leaders, ministers and public figures.
From his part, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, Senior Advisor to Egypt’s Mufti, Secretary-General for the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, declared that this year’s conference aims at implementing a set of strategic goals of the Fatwa Authorities in the digital age with a view to open channels of communication and cooperation with Fatwa institutions worldwide by utilizing modern technology in serving the craft of issuing fatwa.
Dr. Negm pointed out that the conference will include launching a number of new initiatives to regulate and achieve a major leap in the digital fatwa issuance inside and outside Egypt.
