His Eminence Dr. Nazir Mohammad Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, received Sheikh Tomasz Miśkiewicz, Mufti of Poland, in Cairo to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation in religious training and scholarly exchange. The meeting focused on strengthening joint efforts in preparing and training muftis and imams, as well as addressing challenges related to extremism and Islamophobia.

Both sides highlighted the importance of promoting a balanced and moderate understanding of Islam. Dr. Ayyad presented the global role of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide in gathering Fatwa institutions under one umbrella and the other initiatives, including training programs, research centers, and platforms such as the “Salam Center” and the Global Fatwa Index, which support peaceful coexistence and correct religious misconceptions.

The Polish Mufti praised Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta leading scholarly role and expressed interest in expanding cooperation, particularly in training programs for religious leaders in Poland.
