Egypt's grand mufti, Dr.Shawki Allam, received—this afternoon in his office—a religious delegation from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos headed by her Honorary Mrs. Yasmin Busran-Lao. The meeting comes to seek the possibilities for enhancing and promoting mutual religious cooperation between the two countries.

From his part, Dr.Allam confirmed that Dar al-Ifta is fully aware of the problems of the Muslim community and works hard to provide solutions to them. The mufti stated, "Egypt's Dar al-Ifta is striving to build the bridges of cooperation with the different institutions outside Egypt to present moderate religious discourse that achieves the best interest of the religion and countries as well".

The mufti called for establishing a center for providing fatwas to Muslim delegations and minorities. The center is to include representatives from every part of the world to provide Muslim minorities with legal consults on the problems they face in their non-Muslim communities.

Dr.Allam made it clear during the meeting that Dar al-Ifta is ready to provide all forms of help and cooperation to the Muslims in the Philippines through preparing special training programs for muftis, promoting research exchange and everything that is in the best interest of Muslims.

From her part, the head of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos praised the efforts exerted by Dar al-Ifta in encountering extremism and terrorism and correcting the distorted image of Islam in the west. She added that Muslims in the Philippines are looking forward to benefiting from the experience of Dar al-Ifta and its scholars in promoting peaceful coexistence inside the Philippine community and finding solutions for all Muslim-based issues there.
