The fatwa observatory at Dar al-Ifta’ al-Misriyyah warns against the recruitment of Syrian refugees by western extremist groups
The fatwa monitoring observatory at Dar al-Ifta' al-Misriyyah warned against the danger of the recruitment of Syrian refugees fleeing war-torn Syria by ultra-strict western extremist groups under the pretext of giving them help and assistance while seeking to spread chaos and distort the image of Islam.
The report confirmed that these extremist groups exploit the humanitarian crisis of the refugees and indoctrinate them with extremist ideas. The report also mentioned that the Syrian refugees are the most susceptible to recruitment into terrorist groups due to the loss of family and relatives in the ongoing war in Syria in addition to flight traumatization and the difficult challenges they face in some refugee camps.
The report also voiced concern about the risk of QSIS terrorists crossing into Europe as refugees and called upon European countries to exert extra efforts to prevent the recruitment of Syrian refugees by extremist groups. In addition, the report advised on the adoption of a moderate Islamic discourse expressive of Muslims worldwide in addition to cooperation with moderate Islamic institutions.
