Dr. Ibrahim Negm, the Senior Advisor to the Grand Mufti of Egypt, called upon the American community to exert more efforts to prevent inciting hatred against Muslims in the US. This came in a press conference held yesterday in the headquarters of the Islamic center in New York. Negm added that peaceful coexistence and the recognition of other religions evinces civilization and democracy.

Negm explained that Muslim presence in the US is a positive presence and Western communities must realize that Muslims seek to integrate into the societies they live in while preserving their identities and rights as citizens. He added that Dar al-Ifta’ al-Misriyyah always seeks to engage in dialogue with the other, especially in the West, combat extremism and terrorism and promote love and the culture of coexistence between Muslims and non-Muslims across the globe.
