Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta shares its experience in combating radicalism both domestically & internationally
Dr. Shawqi Allam, the grand mufti of Egypt, met with a high-level delegation from the British House of commons lead by Crispin Blunt, the Chair of The Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons, to represent Dar al-Iftaa’s experience in combating radicalism and terrorism.
The Grand Mufti emphasized that fatwa is considered one of the important factors in achieving communal stability. This is because extremist groups exploit some religious texts, which they illogically and unscientifically interpret for achieving their own benefit and for justifying their committed crimes.
Furthermore, Dr. Shawqi, emphasized that the entire world is at risk of terrorism as in fact we are all in the same boat, and therefore we must cooperate and stand up together against this danger which threatens the entire world.
On his part, the chair of the of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons, praised Dar al-iftaa’s exerted efforts in combating both radicalism and terrorism. As he further expressed his willingness to exert more efforts in order to immune the world against terrorism.
