On the occasion of the Battle of Badr, Dr. Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt said that Ramadan is the month of victories in Islamic history. He added that all of the battles that the Messenger of Allah fought were for the sake of defending homeland; they were not in any way an attack against others without right.

The great Islamic victories and conquests that took place during the blessed month of Ramadan attest to the fact that Ramadan is the month of diligence and hard work and not idleness and sluggishness.
