Transferring Dar al-Ifta’s experience to the Malaysian Council of Religious Affairs
Dr. Shawqi Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, received on Tuesday morning a delegation from the Malaysian Council of Religious Affairs. The delegation’s aim is to benefit from Dar al-Ifta’s experience in fatwa issuance, communication with students of fatwa around the world, and cooperation in teaching and e-training.
The Malaysian delegation was headed by Dr. Shahda` Mahmoud; Mr. Abdul Muhaymin ibn Mahmoud, the religious attaché at the Malaysian embassy in Cairo; Mr. Dhul Qarnayn ibn Hitam; Mr. Umar Mukhtar ibn Mohammed Yunus; Mr. Ahmed Badr Al-Hisham ibn Rafi’i; and Mr. Mohammed Adly ibn Ibrahim.
Dr. Shawqi Allam demonstrated Dar al-Ifta’s readiness to cooperate with the Malaysian Council of Religious Affairs in this respect. During the meeting, an agreement was reached to host a number of Malaysian scholars to train them in fatwa skills next month, send a number of scholars from Dar al-Ifta to Malaysia to train the muftis in Malaysia, in addition to direct coordination between Dar al-Ifta and the Council of Religious Affairs to answer fatwas they receive.
At the end of the meeting, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawqi Allam, presented the delegation with a hard and soft copy of the fatwas issued by Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah.
