In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Senior Advisor to the Grand Mufti, Dr. Ibrahim Negm stated that the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide (GSFAW) has approved the statement made by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed al-Tayyeb, yesterday as part of its overall roadmap as reference in all of its work and activities.

It is worthy to mention that Dr. al-Tayyeb delivered the opening statement for the first international conference of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide entitled: "Qualifying and Educating Religious Leadership in the Issuance of fatāwā in Mosque Communities of Muslim Minority Countries."

The conference is organized by Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa from October 17-18, 2016.
