Dr. Shawky Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, denounced the terrorist operation against North Sinai Police Headquarters in Al-Arish which left 8 dead and more than 22 injured. This heinous act was followed by an atrocious attack on border's defense forces in the governate of Al- Wadi al- Gadid which left 15 soldiers dead.

The Grand Mufti stressed that terrorism neither respects the sanctity of the blessed month of Ramadan nor the sanctity of the Muslim soul. He added that such hateful terrorist attacks defame Islam and distort its image. He said that such actions are contrary to the principles of Islam and its rulings which command Muslims to preserve lives, property, and honor.
Furthermore, the Grand Mufti demanded taking immediate strict action in order to secure safety of the people and important buildings.

He further called upon all Egyptians to cooperate with the authorities to confront this extremist terrorist ideology and criminal actions targeting innocents and seeking to threaten the stability of Egypt.

The Grand Mufti offered his deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs, wished the injured a speedy recovery and supplicated God to protect Egypt and Egyptians and for security to prevail all over the country.
