Egypt's Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, delivered Friday sermon at Malé's grand mosque, where approximately 40.000 worshipers attended including official and public figures. The Grand Mufti focused, in his sermon, on tolerance and mercy as the supreme moral principles in Islam and the essence of the Prophet's message.

Dr. Allam started his official visit to the Maldives earlier today in response to an official invitation, and he will give the key speech in the conference on the role of fatwa in promoting peace.
