The Observatory for Monitoring Takfiri Fatwas and Extremist Ideologies at Egypt's Dar al-Ifta denounced the deadly shooting at the "Tree of Life" Synagogue in Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh, USA that left eleven people dead and six injured including three police officers.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, the observatory confirmed that these terrorist attacks which involve blowing up houses of worship, terrorizing and killing innocent worshippers are prohibited in Islam and contradict divine objectives of the Shari'ah. "These brutal killings aim to cause discord, create chaos, and sow the seeds of hate and sectarianism among people," the observatory added. Furthermore, Islam rejects all forms of racism and maintains the necessity of preserving religion, life, intellect, progeny and wealth regardless of people's faith, color or ethnic background.
