The 5th international conference of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide titled “Managing Juristic Differences: A Civilizational Approach” kicked off on Tuesday morning under the kind auspices of the President of Egypt, HE Abdul Fattah al-Sisi.

A Group of high-level delegates from 85 countries attended the opening session and will participate in the conference’s upcoming sessions.

The Grand Mufti of Egypt, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Shawki Allam, gave the conference’s opening statement; the Minister of Aqwaf, Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, gave a speech on behalf of the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbuly and Dr. Nadhir Ayad, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Assembly, gave a speech on behalf of Dr. Ahmed al-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Azahr.

The sessions of the two-day conference will cover 4 main themes and a number of workshops will be held on the conference’s margins, with a view to utilize and manage juristic differences with insight and prudence.
