Renewing religious discourse is a necessity in our time, Egypt’s Mufti states in Oman’s symposium on Fiqh development

December 1, 2019

In his keynote speech delivered in Oman’s symposium on the Development of Jurisprudence (Fiqh) Sciences, Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam said that renewing religious discourse and developing Jurisprudence research is one of the most important issues that concern scholars in the Muslim world at present.

Dr. Allam added that the need to renew religious discourse has become the core topic raised in international conferences and academic institutions and thus it has become a duty in our time.

Egypt’s Mufti is currently participating in the symposium on the Development of Jurisprudence (Fiqh) Sciences in Oman under the theme “Water Fiqh in the Islamic law, its Legal Provisions, Civilized Prospects and Contemporary Issues” from 1-3 December. A group of scholars, intellectuals and researchers from within the Sultanate and various Islamic countries attend and participate in the symposium.
