Peaceful coexistence is a necessity for humanity, Egypt’s Mufti confirms in Croatia’s human fraternity conference

In his keynote speech delivered in presence of the Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović in the international conference on human fraternity in Croatia, Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, confirmed that scholars should cooperate and work on creating a comprehensive strategy to investigate and encounter the current challenges, promote and instill the values of peaceful coexistence, peace and security in all human societies with all its religious and ethnic diversities.

“All heavenly-revealed religions called for promoting security, which is a great value for establishing peace in the first place,” Dr. Allam said. He added that security cannot be attained except through establishing the value of peaceful coexistence and rejecting violent extremism and terrorism.

Dr. Allam concluded that this kind of global events are important to combat loathsome animosity and promote the values of peace, love, and cooperation, which are common to all faiths and religions.
The conference titled, “Human Fraternity: Promoting Peace and Security” is currently held in Croatia, from 4-5 February, under the kind auspices of the Muslim World League.
