The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam emphasized during his meeting with Jean Christophe Boussil, the advisor to the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, that Islam condemns all types of terrorism and violence and that Dar al-Iftaa has strongly condemned the terrorist attack against the French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Boussil praised the role of Dar al-Iftaa in confronting the extremists as he expressed the appreciation of French authorities to the Dar’s condemnation of Charlie Hebdo’s terrorist attack.

He further stressed that as a Christian, he felt insulted by publishing the cartoons depicting the Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] because he has Muslim friends.

He added, the French judiciary is experienced enough to differentiate between the convicted and unconvicted in such matters. He concluded by mentioning that Charlie Hebdo magazine was convicted by the French judiciary three years ago due to publishing offensive cartoons.
