Egypt's Mufti, India's PM met in Cairo to foster mutual religious relations
At the beginning of his official visit to Egypt, India's Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi received Dr. Shawki Allam, Egypt's Grand Mufti at his residence in Cairo to discuss the means of fostering mutual religious cooperation.
During the meeting, India's PM praised Egypt's Dar al-Ifta role on both the national and international levels to promote peaceful coexistence at our challenging times.
"I was closely following Dr. Allam's recent visit to India and it really sent a positive message to the world," PM said.
From his part, Dr. Allam reiterated that his recent visit to India brought to focus the strong Egyptian-Indian historical relations and attested to the importance of promoting sound religious teachings to achieve peace and coexistence.
"All Fatwas issued by Egypt's Dar al-Ifta aim to achieve social stability inclusing addressing women's' rights, the relations among Muslims and non-Muslims and other relevant issues," Dr. Allam added.
