Egypt's Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Shawki Allam, stated in his keynote speech that sustainable development does not only address current challenges but also anticipates future prospects. "Our distinguished scholars have ensured that their efforts serve the interests of both individuals and the nation in the short and long term," he added. Dr. Allam concluded that issues related to sustainable development require careful consideration and diligent effort. This necessitates openness to cultures and the utilization of modern sciences for the benefit of nations.

The two-day conference is organized by the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Sharjah University from 5th to 6th March, with the participation of elite researchers and scholars from the university and several academic institutions in the Islamic world.
