What is the ruling for spending the night at Muzdalifa on Ayam at-Tashriq?

Spending the night at Muzdalifa on Ayam at-Tashriq (the three days following 'Eid al-Adha) is not among the rites of Hajj nor is it a Sunna. A person who spends the night at Muzdalifa on these days is not blameworthy but has contradicted the guidance of the Prophet [pbuh]. The only thing is that he may miss spending the greater portion of these nights at Mina, which is obligatory according to the majority of scholars and if missed, requires one to slaughter.
