Egypt's Mufti Receives Delegation from Al-Azhar Alumni Association in Bangladesh, Affirms Support for Religious and Academic Institutions

His Eminence Prof. Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, received a delegation from Al-Azhar Alumni Association in Bangladesh, led by Qazi Shamsuddin. The visit aimed to strengthen academic and religious cooperation.

During the meeting, the Grand Mufti reaffirmed Dar al-Ifta’s commitment to supporting religious institutions abroad and to providing scholarly guidance and training that reinforce Al-Azhar’s centrist, moderate approach to Islam.

The delegation expressed its deep appreciation for Dar al-Ifta’s leading role in promoting balanced religious discourse and countering extremism. They also requested access to a selection of official fatwas and scholarly resources to support Islamic work and research efforts in Bangladesh.

At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Hassan Masood — President of the Bangladeshi Academy for Research and representative of Bangladeshi students at Al-Azhar — extended a formal invitation to the Grand Mufti to attend the Academy’s inaugural conference, scheduled for August 1, under the title: “The Scholarly and Jurisprudential Contributions of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan.”
