Egypt's Mufti Highlights Islam's Civilizational Values at Uzbekistan's First International Forum
As part of his participation in the First International Forum on Islamic Civilization, currently held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Egypt’s Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, affirmed that Islamic civilization is founded on justice, mercy, knowledge, and peaceful coexistence, with tolerance and peace as enduring Islamic principles rather than temporary political slogans.
In his word, Dr. Ayyad highlighted Egypt’s efforts to foster moderation and counter extremism through the work of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide and called for promoting Islam’s authentic civilizational values to counter misconceptions, uphold human dignity, and advance justice and lasting peace, particularly in light of the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.
