Dr. Shawqi Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt has received the Qatari Ambassador, Saif al-Bou’anayn, in his office who congratulated him on holding the position of the Grand Mufti.

During the meeting, the Qatari Ambassador stressed that the scholars from both Al-Azhar and Dar al-Ifta have contributed significantly in both educational and religious development in Qatar.

He added that he appreciates Egypt greatly and its people confirming that Egypt is the big sister for Arab and Islamic countries.

The Qatari Ambassador said: “We are keen to promote mutual cooperation between Egypt and Qatar on all levels during the next stage.”

His eminence, Dr, Sahawqy Allam the Grand Mufti of Egypt presented different departments at Dar al-Ifta and the tasks it undertake to serve Islam and Muslims everywhere. He presented Dar al-Ifta’s website which is available in 9 languages and receives Muslims’ inquiries from everywhere, materials released by Dar al-Ifta and the Dar’s monthly magazine.

The Grand Mufti expressed Dar al-Ifta’s willingness for providing religious assistance to Qatar especially in E-learning program which aims to train Muftis.
