The new French Ambassador praises Dar al- Iftaa's efforts in combating terrorism
Dr. Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, stressed that Dar al-Iftaa exerts tremendous efforts both domestically and internationally in confronting and refuting terrorists’ claims and correcting the distorted image of Islam.
This comes during his meeting with the new French Ambassador in Cairo His Excellency Andrew Baran. The Grand Mufti emphasized that Egypt is undergoing a fierce battle against terrorists which requires cooperation and that infedilization and bombings are two sides of the same coin.
During the meeting, the Grand Mufti called upon the western media to drop using the acronym “Islamic state” when referring to terrorist organizations.
Dr. Allam, emphasized that Dar al-Iftaa has sensed the danger of terrorist fatwas and established an observatory for tracking infedilizing fatwas and refuting them. Furthermore, Dar al- Iftaa has undertaken international tours for correcting the distorted image of Islam, which will be increased in the coming period.
The French Ambassador praised Dar al- Iftaa's attempts to confront extremism and stressed that France endeavors to benefit from the exerted efforts in this regard. Moreover, he emphasized that the French government is so keen to cooperate with the both the noble Azhar and Egypt's Dar al-Iftaa which are domestically and globally well established and recognized Islamic institutions.
