Dar al-ifta al-Missriyah: peaceful protestation is acceptable and we warn against destruction and chaos

Dar al-ifta al-Missriyah stressed that protestation and demonstration are acceptable in a peaceful manner which guarantees refraining from attack public and personal properties, destroying public facilities and obstructing people’s interests.

Dar al-Ifta has warned intensively against attacking Egyptian institutions and assaulting people whose blood in Islam is more sacred than the Ka’ba.

This was the statement issued by Dar al-ifta al-Missriyah today on the occasion of the preparations for demonstrating on 30 June which some political powers have declared they will join.

Furthermore, Dar al-Ifta calls upon all national powers to put the country’s interest ahead of any partial interests comparing Egypt to a ship, if it sinks no one will be rescued.

In its statement, Dar al-Ifta urged the Media to attain accuracy, be mindful of Allah and achieve Egypt’s welfare while transmitting news. It confirms that true professionalism lies in objectivity and transmitting facts as they are without any addition or decrease is the only way to success. Moreover, every word will be the subject of reckoning by Allah the Almighty.

Finally, Dar al-Ifta called for activating “The Azhar’s document on Renouncing violence” which was accepted before by different political powers. The document stresses the prohibition of bloodshed, the government’s duty in protecting citizens, rejecting violence and stimulating it in any way and the commitment to peaceful demonstrations. Moreover, it confirms that Azhar with all its branches will remain the shelter which Egyptian masses seek in times of crises.
