Dr.Shawki Allam, Egypt's grand mufti, received a delegation from the Kurdistan Islamic Scholars Union in Iraq to investigate the means of promoting mutual religious cooperation between the two countries.

The Kurdistan delegation, headed by Sheikh Azad Khourshid Ahmed, pointed out that the visit comes as an urge to seek Egypt's Dar al-Ifta help in promoting moderate understating of Islam due to its leading prestigious religious role worldwide.

During the meeting, Dr.Shawki elucidated the mechanisms that Dar al-Ifta follows to combat extremist ideologies, confirming that confronting terrorism worldwide starts by correcting the misconceptions of these extremist groups who are mongering to achieve their mean goals and undermine the fundamentals of the religion.
