Dr. Shawqi 'Allam, the grand Mufti of Egypt, confirmed that we are working towards constructing an institutional State that comprises all opinions and sects. This was during his meeting with the Azerbaijani ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abdullayev on Monday afternoon in his office at Dar al-Ifta al-Missiriyah. Both parties discussed the means to enhance religious cooperation between the two countries.

The grand Mufti of Egypt stated that participation, circulation of power, responsibility and accountability are the basic principles that guarantee the reform of the individuals and country, pointing that nations are constructed by cooperation, support, mercy, and not by discord and fight.

The grand Mufti expressed that apart from the prevailing unrest and turmoil culture, it is necessary to sit together to resolve the numerous current challenges.

From his part, the Azerbaijani ambassador declared that his country has witnessed three revolutions in the beginning of 1990s, confirming that it was the will of people that finally gained victory. The Azerbaijani ambassador stressed that he has a firm faith in the ability of Egyptians to overcome all the challenges they are facing right now, adding that spreading more public awareness may abort any attempts to divide the Egyptians.

By the end of their meeting, the ambassador of Azerbaijan delivered the grand Mufti an invitation from the foreign minister of the Azerbaijani Republic to attend the 3rd International Humanitarian Forum which will be held in the city of Baku from October 31 to November 1st, 2013.
