The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawqi 'Allam, condemned the action committed by some  citizens in Giza governorate who murdered, mutilated and burned the houses of four Shi'ite Muslims. Dr. Shawqi confirmed that such kind of actions are unfamiliar to the Egyptians and the religion of Islam deny this and deem it opponent to the sound human nature.

The Grand mufti of Egypt stressed on the sanctity of human blood which is more venerated in the sight of God than the demolition of Ka'ba. He added that Islam prohibited the mutilation of corpses and urged Muslims to equally treat the deceased corpse the same as the alive and thus it is forbidden to beat or drag along anyone.

The Grand Mufti warned the Egyptians against engaging in such actions which are mere attempts to spread sectarian riots in Egypt, that led many countries into the circle of violence and impact till now. The Grand Mufti called upon all Egyptians to be alert and cautious of the danger of engaging in such riots and responding to its promoters. He asserted the necessity of cooperation, unity and awareness of the perils that our beloved Egypt is witnessing at the present time so we will be able to safely exceed the crisis.
