The Grand Mufti of Egypt asks pilgrims to pray for Egypt in abundance and to conform to the rules of Saudi authorities

The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawqi Allam, congratulated the pilgrims on going to the Sacred House; a bounty which they should be thankful for. He advised the pilgrims to maintain Islamic etiquette in order to be granted an accepted pilgrimage and return free of sin as the day on which they were born.

Dr. Allam further stressed the necessity of conforming to the religious legal laws and avoiding violating the laws enacted to preserve the general welfare and safety of the pilgrims as well as facilitating the rites of hajj.
The Grand Mufti explained that it is impermissible for any pilgrim to harm himself or others as it is likewise impermissible to violate the regulations enacted by Saudi authorities.

He called upon pilgrims to follow the rulings of the Islamic Research Council and Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah concerning the permissibility of stoning throughout the day. Mentioning the legal maxim, ‘Difficulty begets facilitation’, he said that the purpose is to facilitate the rite for pilgrims especially at present.

The Grand Mufti mentioned the necessity of making the intention, maintaining sincerity, striving against one’s ego and supplicating God in abundance. He said that the day of Arafat is the best of these blessed days; it is a day on which the righteous ask their Lord for their needs and the good of this world and the next as well as a day on which they repent to God and ask for His forgiveness.

The Grand Mufti advised Muslims in general and pilgrims in particular not to forfeit these days. He said that God will not misguide anyone who seeks His pleasure and that God-consciousness is the best of provisions.
He asked the pilgrims to supplicate God to preserve Egypt from any harm and to keep it a country of peace and security.
