As part of his European tour to correct the image of Islam, Dr. Shawky Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, met with the foreign relations committee in the Dutch parliament. During the meeting, Dr. Allam confirmed that there is no Christian minority in Egypt and that all Egyptians are citizens with the same rights and duties. He also confirmed that the equality of all Egyptians before the law, the absence of any ‘political trials’ and the independence of the judiciary.

Dr. Allam said that the war on terrorism needs real global support and not mere slogans, adding that terrorist organizations have a passion for blood and are antagonistic to true Islam. Dr. Allam also explained to the foreign relations committee in the Dutch parliament the true meaning of jihad for the sake of Allah.
