Dar al-Iftaa launches an international online petition campaign to motivate the international media to drop ISIS and adopt QSIS

Dar al-Iftaa launches an international online petition campaign in its effort to encourage the international media to drop the appellation ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syrian) and to adopt the new appellation (QSIS) Qa'ida Separatists in Iraq and Syria to disassociate the name of Islam from the heinous acts of terrorism led by QSIS.

The campaign targets to collect as many signatures as it can as a tool to motivate different international media outlets to cease connecting Islam with the appalling acts of such terrorist groups. This move aims at clarifying the name of Islam from the atrocities committed by such terrorist groups which are vehemently prohibited by the Islamic Shari'ah and strongly condemned by humanity.

Dar al- Iftaa is a firm believer that the international media is adamant on delivering true information to its global audience as providing erroneous information or supporting terrorism in any shape or form could not be part of its editorial policies. Therefore, we call on the international media to respond to our campaign and start using QSIS instead of ISIS in its news coverage.
