Egypt’s Mufti receives a high-level delegation from Singapore, discusses means of fostering religious cooperation

Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, received a high-level delegation from Singapore headed by His Eminence Masagos Zulkifli, Minister in charge of Religious Affairs, to discuss the means of promoting mutual religious cooperation.
During the meeting, Dr. Allam reviewed the efforts of Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta to combat extremist ideologies by establishing the observatory for monitoring infidel thoughts in 2014 and holding many important international conferences through the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities World that contributed to achieving stability and debunking extremist narratives.
From their part, the delegation praised Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta efforts in serving Muslims worldwide and expressed their interest in cooperating with and benefiting from the Dar’s expertise in preparing an academic religious program, will be released in January 2020, to train Shari'ah students on issuing fatwas and engaging their communities to achieve coexistence and accept religious pluralism
