Egypt's Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, stated in a news statement that Egypt's Dar al-Ifta issued a total of 1.5 million fatwas in 2022. The bulk of fatwas addressed family issues, countering extremism, and various modern issues.

"This year witnessed an expansion in the establishment of fatwa-service departments and the launching of "Fatwa Pro" app that serves as a safe platform and trusted reference for Muslims worldwide", Dr. Allam noted.
