Is it impermissible to use scented soap while in a state of ihram?

 

 

It is prohibited to use perfume on the body, clothes, or in food while in a state of ihram since it is one of the restrictions of ihram.

However, there is a scholarly debate on whether scented soap is considered perfume. Some scholars have maintained that scented soap is considered perfume while others believe it is not. For this reason, it is better to exercise religious cautiousness and refrain from using scented soap.
