Egypt's Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam, strongly condemned the series of nine bombings in Sri Lanka targeted 3 churches and hotels in three cities on Easter Sunday leaving at least 290 people dead and more than 500 others injured.

In a news statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Allam confirmed that attacking houses of worship is rejected in all religions and terrorist groups seek to destabilize communities, spread hatred and threaten social fabric.
Dr. Allam extended his sincere condolences to the people and government of Sri Lanka and wished the injured a speedy recovery
