Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta Presents a Pioneering Experience in Digital Transformation during 2023
Within the framework of achieving sustainable development goals and maintaining fair resource utilization, and in light of serious guidance and support from the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam, Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta intensified its efforts in 2023 towards digital transformation. The institution paid close attention to utilizing all available technologies to facilitate fatwa-related services and build bridges of communication with Muslims inside and outside Egypt, in various languages.
From his part, Dr. Reda Zayed, the Director of Information Technology Department at Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta, stated in a news release that at the forefront of the department's efforts in 2023 was the establishment of a digital portal enabling access to the services of Dar Al-Ifta in different languages. This also included the activation of automated fatwa systems, electronic reservations, and several services that contributed to improving the quality of services provided to inquirers at the various branches of the Dar across different governorates, enhancing their effectiveness and efficiency.
"The department also succeeded in developing a mobile application providing access to Dar Al-Ifta's services in multiple languages, along with an encyclopedia of the archive of fatwas issued by Dar Al-Ifta, facilitating access for researchers and the general public," Zayed added.
He concluded that Dar Al-Ifta paid special attention to ensuring the application of international quality standards for business management, data security, and protection against leaks. It also considered the periodic updating of IT-related policies to ensure their alignment with the latest developments and the continuity of effective implementation.
