I got married 8 months ago, I had several quarrels with my wife, and she was always refusing my advices, 4 months ago she left my home. Now she is in her father’s home for 4 months, and she is also pregnant.
In one session I said to her brother, “I do not want to live with her “ and repeated, also in a telephonic conversation, as I was very depressed I said to my wife repeatedly “I do not want you”. Finally, as I was under pressure by my family, and my family were always saying that I have to give her divorce, by, 3 weeks ago, I went to a center who do the law activities, he wrote a divorce letter and 3 “divorce” were mentioned in that letter, but I did not say the word “divorce” verbally, then we sent the letter to my wife’s family, who are currently living in another city. Now please guide me, can I take my wife back and get together with new marriage contract, please let me know did the three divorces occur?
p.s. divorcing her was in my mind when I wrote her that letter.

I want to divorce my husband and I would like to go through the first steps which are marital counseling. He does not want a divorce but he has not been the worst husband but he has been a severe liar from day one and misrepresented himself to me therefore I feel as though I wasn’t given my right to make an educated decision to marry him. I tried to move past his lies but he continues to lie one after the other. I cannot keep overlooking his lying ways. Can you tell me what grounds I need in order to leave this marriage?

assalamu Alikum,
I was a co-wife(second wife) for 5 years to a British brother ,he used to live in Cairo now he left ,he gains about 25,000LE per month ,he got 3 kids from first wife ,my husband divorced me twice ,now I am in the waiting period of my second divorce from him. I have a 3 years old child.
He wants to send my child 1000LE alimony per month and said he shall not give me alimony other than the months of the waiting period which he made (1000 LE ) for me per month of the waiting period and 1000LE for my child for good.
As during marriage he used to give me 2000 LE as expenses for me and his child .I do not work ,and I pay rent, gast, etc..
After months of the waiting period, he will send us 1000 for my daughter and nothing for me.
My question is dose he owe me nafqat mot’a (which is 2 years of monthly nafqa according to Egyptian Law ). Dose he owe me the rent of flat plus the 1000 expenses. He said he divorced me because he cannot be fair between wives but actually he takes his kids 3 time out a week and travel every 6 weeks to chill.
My wife is asking for divorce and it is not my wish to divorce her. She says if I don't divorce her she will resort to court to initiate divorce (khol’) . What rights does she have pertaining to the following if I agree to a divorce?
1. House. She wants to keep our house.
2. Kids custody (we have three kids). She wants to keep only two of the kids and I would rather all kids stay together and I would rather have them live with me.
3. Alimony and dowry. Her dad said I will have to pay her dowry and alimony for three years. We’ve been married for 14 years.

I told my wife: "You are to me like my mother and sister" with the intention of
refraining from conjugal relations with her; in expiation, I fasted for sixty consecutive days. On another occasion, I told her: "If you spend the night at your father's house you will be to me like my mother and sister," again with the intention of not engaging in intercourse with her. What is the ruling for this since she did spend the night at her father's house?
On 29 November 2004 I married a young Egyptian journalist working for a Kuwaiti news agency and joined him in Kuwait on 21 January 2005. The marriage contract did not include any provisions stipulating that I travel to certain countries.
I returned from Kuwait after a dispute with my husband which escalated into him beating me severely. The reason for this was my refusal to apply for immigration to Canada where he wanted me to give birth as a means of acquiring the Canadian nationality. Please note that my husband did not acquaint me with his intention prior to our marriage.
We returned to Egypt on 3 June 2005, and I refused to travel to Canada to visit his brothers and execute his plan of giving birth there.
Matters did not improve between us and I remained in my father's apartment in Egypt.
During this time, my husband did not send me any money and divorced me in absentia on 26 September 2005. He did not take me back. I gave birth to my child on 23 November 2005.
All efforts towards reconciliation and a subsequent reunion with a new marriage contract failed.
Please clarify the following:
My right to spousal support, its duration, and whether it is due for one year or more or less, waiting period expenses from the date of divorce until the date of delivery, and alimony and its duration.
The amount of the above expenses and whether they are estimated based on his income in Kuwait where he has been working since our marriage until present.
Am I eligible to receive financial support for the period between my return from Kuwait on 3rd June until my divorce on 26th September? Expenses of my medical treatment, delivery and the baby clothes I bought before giving birth.
The sum for legal child support and whether it includes clothing, food and medical expenses in addition to a fee for breastfeeding and accommodations for the custodial parent. I live in my father's apartment and it is not possible for me to reside in the marital house because it is in the same building where my husband's family lives.
My eligibility to receive a deferred dowry which is 10,000 EGP.
My right to the furniture (we both contributed towards buying the furniture but did not draw up a registry of furniture signed by my husband].
My husband did not pay me any dowry and the sum documented in the contract is 1 EGP. Am I entitled to receive mahr al-mithl [the dowry typically paid to brides from the same social class]?
Paternal and paternal grandparent visitations. Can these be scheduled so as not to cause me any inconveniences?
